Anasept is a very unique antimicrobial product. Like Dakin's solution, the active ingredient is sodium hyphochlorite. This is where the similiarity ends. Anasept has been "tamed" so that it may be used for inanimate objects, such as a desk or countertop, as well as being used as an antimicrobial wound care spray or dressing. With the exception of Proteus mirabilis, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, laboratory tests show that all bacteria such as ecoli, staph aureus, mrsa, pseudomonas aeruginosa and serratia marcescens has a kill rate of 100% within 30 seconds.
